Tomorrow I’m 39 years old. To be honest, I don’t feel that old, or young, which ever way you want to look at it. I still feel like a kid, the same snotty nosed kid that was always drawing and writing stories. Strange thing is, now I have a wider audience. I invent a world and people now get to read about it. But, when you’re just a kid people don’t tell you how good or how bad your imagination is.
Anyway, now I’m a hundred pages into my new book, and so far it’s going well. I think I’ve created an interesting, flawed, and complicated main character. I think I have title now, after quite a long search. I saw a poem the other day and saw one particular line within it- and with a slight tweak, I had my title, and it fits really well with the subject matter. Don’t you just love it when that happens?
Murderson and Spider Mouth are still selling okay, which is good news. I do wonder what people will make of Spider Mouth, as I feel it is a dark and sad trip into DI Fred Fairservice’s world. Welcome To Killville USA is the book I’m close to finishing- editing wise, and when I get the cover from Tony Glass, which should be great, it’ll be ready to go on Amazon.
I read the article about book spamming yesterday. Seems dodgy types are trying to make money through ebooks, by nicking other people’s work, changing the title and cover and selling it on Amazon. I guess there are always going to be people who try and twist the system for their own ends. Let’s hope they come up with a way to combat the problem.
Well, I’m off to celebrate my birthday!
Don’t forget, Spider Mouth is now available from Amazon.
